ANCHOR BAY
We remain in the West coast and discover a corner of the sea came directly from the fantastic world of Disney. It is not a metaphor! This small sandy beach is in fact the foot of a strange village all colored, built in 1980as a set of musical Popeye and maintained since then. We move to the south-east , where there is another dream place that is also an adventure in its own right. If you feel a bit 'scouts will certainly be worth the effort! You get in the car at the top of the cliff, but then you have to walk down the path up to this real natural swimming pool (hence its name). Crystal clear water nestled between white rocks , which become also a perfect springboard for the more brave! GOLDEN BAY
Let's go back in the north-west , this time to what is the beach of Malta with a capital S . Certainly one of the most famous, but with good reason! The Golden Bay is a large expanse of fine sand, surrounded by green fields and all the amenities : bars, restaurants, a wide range of water sports and a beautiful resort right on the beach. The perfect location for a weekend of relaxation and romance-based , because you can see from the waterline truly breathtaking sunsets!
MGARR IX-Xini BAY / Gozo
On the southern coast of Gozo lies this small beach decidedly isolated from civilization, nestled in a narrowbay and surrounded by a valley with steep cliffs that preserve the pristine charm. It can be reached from the town of Sannat car or on foot, and is famous among locals for the great aquatic life of its depths : bring your own mask and fins to dive to remember!
Ghajn Tuffieha BAY
Five minutes from Golden Bay is another nice cove, but definitely quieter than its neighbor glamor. Its name is unpronounceable in Maltese means Apple's Eye , a reference to its reddish color given by a particular sand that makes it really fascinating. But it is also nicknamed "the bay of the stairs ", because to get there you have to actually go down (and then up!) in a long series of steps, which connect the parking area to the sea. What do you say, you're fit enough ?!
GHASRI VALLEY / Gozo
The first thought that comes to mind watching Ghasri Valley from the top is: "We are in Norway, but it's hot."This true fjord in the north of Gozo , in fact, she slips into the interior for several hundred meters, creating alabyrinth of caves truly spectacular . L ' water that is more transparent and rich in marine life, thanks to the depths of rock and cliffs all around. There is also a small beach of sand at the bottom of the inlet, accessible by a walk of a few minutes. If you have never thought of snorkeling , this is the perfect place to start!
RAMLA BAY / Gozo
We remain on the northern coast of Gozo , but for a very different beach. The Ramla Bay is a gentle expanse of reddish sand , surrounded by hills and terraces are very old. Speaking of antiquity, on the right you will find a path that leads to the Calypso Cave , which is the cave where, according to legend, the nymph kept Odysseus prisoner for seven years . The beach can be reached in forty minutes on foot or by bus service from the village of Nadur . Our advice: Make like Odysseus, choose this place and stay there a lot 'of time!
AZURE WINDOW / Gozo
On the west coast of Gozo , this wide gulf takes its name from a real natural monument that it is to be photographed in plain view at the entrance of the bay: it is a rock arch calcarica impressive that you have probably already seen in a lot of movies (from the Count of Monte Cristo in Game of Thrones ), but that makes live so much more! The waters that surround it are perfect for lovers of scuba diving , but also for boat rides and stops regenerating on sunny rocks on the coast. And, I recommend attention to the crabs!
BLUE LAGOON / COMINO
Also worth a visit is the ' smallest island , delicious Comino . On its west coast is the fantastic Blue Lagoon, with the waters of a color that rivals the Caribbean . The blue bluer there, made even more splendid by the reflections of the sky and the white sand of the seabed. Around there are rocks and nature (in Comino there are only four people officers!) so book passage on a boat and go in search of pirates and mermaids!
