Ryanair lets customers pay with paypal
It is now possible to pay for flights on Ryanair using PayPal.
The Irish low-cost airline now allows customers to pay for their fare using the online payment platform.
By teaming with PayPal, Ryanair hopes to offer passengers "even faster bookings" on its flights.
"Our partnership with PayPal is the latest element of our Always Getting Better program and our commitment to the continued improvement of our customer experience," said the brand's chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs, adding that recently introduced services include "allocated seating, a free second carry-on bag, reduced fees, a new website, a new app and mobile boarding passes and our Ryanair Family Extra service."
He also noted that the carrier plans to roll out a new product for business travelers in the near future.
According to PayPal, there are some 152 million active accounts on the website worldwide. For its part, Ryanair claims to have around 86 million customers.
The announcement makes Ryanair the first low-cost airline to partner with PayPal, although the payment option is already offered by a number of conventional carriers including British Airways, Etihad Airways and the Polish airline LOT.
In addition to airfare, travelers also have the option to pay for hotels through PayPal on booking sites including Hotels.com or Hotwire.com, or often on a hotel's own website.
